Do you Sysprep - 10/21/2022
Sysprep is a powerful tool. It is useful when setting up new images and new features and build a clean image of a vm that you may intend to deploy as a Golden image. VMWare has a few tips for using this.
1st - NEVER do it from command line.
2nd - Open the GUI sysprep and run it from the GUI. /Windows/System32/Sysprep and open sysprep.
3rd - DO NOT choose to "Generalize"
a. Run sysprep and let the OOBE option run 1st.
b. Run sysprep again and now Generalize 2nd.
4th - Reboot and you should be good to go.
Sysprep runs and handles the prep different as the original images have already had a Generalization performed with VMWare Optimizer. This sets up a sysprep type tool that will cause issues with the system in you VM and if done from the command line (Command Prompt) will render you VM unusable.
This should make sysprepping easy.
