SDC License (s) and registering - 04/20/2023
SDC has had a number of questions arise about licensing and how this works. To better educate our wonderful customers. Here is a simply outstanding of how to and why;
1. Request a Demo or Additional Deployment (You can use the portal located at https://help.syptec.com/hesk)
Why - We require a portal request so we can track, trouble shoot and archive all notes in the ticket. Once the VM (s) are setup you need to request in a different ticket, licensing (see the portal above). This is because many have existing, EDU, GOV, SPLA, KMS, Self and other type of licensing that may be outside our default.
2. We delay license delivery on all VM.
Why - So that you can prepare, arrange, configure, install and test prior to going to production, we also do not license DEMO mode VM's. This is in part as DEMO may be a test, forklift or conversion and could break in the process. This would incur penalties that many of our user do not want to incur a cost for. You can hard request licenses and it will force the VM to production with no grace period.
3. Register and Activate
Why - Once you are satisfied with the VM for production, we can then assist with activation or provide the key and your team can do the activation. This ensures the process goes smoothly. We suggest using SLUI or SLUI2 to complete the process from the command prompt.
