How to upgrade pfSense version
Prerequisites
1. Take a snapshot of your pfSense VM before starting this process. This way you can easily roll back changes.
If you are a Proxmox user, you will need to open a support ticket requesting a backup be taken before you proceed with any further steps.
2. Download your pfSense configuration via the Web GUI. This is located under Diagnostics -> Backup & Restore.
3. Go to System -> Package Manager and take note of all packages listed. If there are issues you can re install packages after the upgrade.
Upgrading pfSense from CLI

2. From the pfSense main menu, Navigate to the Shell.
3. Enter the command certctl rehash
4. Enter the command exit
5. From the pfSense main menu, do Update from Console.
