SDC Tampa - 02/25/2022

SDC Tampa --

We experienced an edge outage to an updated firewall edge.  This caused routes served to South America to temporarily go down.  The service of all the VM's remained up and operational but the root cause was a bad route update to increase performance and available routes going South to fail.  This has been resolved.  The 2nd attempt was successful and allowed traffic to continue as normal  The direct cause was the ACL rules to BGP setup by the upstream carrier to be incorrectly applied and had a bad filter.

We have monitored for 24 hours and this should not occur with future updates.   We have also adding padding to the suspect carrier and will slow increase traffic over the next 7 days.

No other update will be noted.
